I grew up in Berkeley, CA, was an artist through college, and then traveled and lived in Brazil. Since then I have worked as an environmental scientist, and more recently as a builder and craftsman. I love adventure; specifically the kind of adventure that involves every part of you, where your equipment is your fingers and toes, eyes and mind. I also believe in learning things through instinct. In everything I do – making art, running, climbing, singing, speaking foreign languages – I begin with instinct. I live in Oakland, CA with my wife and two daughters.
