Matthew Holz is based in Hobart, Tasmania who is a passionate low light photographer, with interests in Aurora Australis and Astrophotography. He bought his first DSLR camera in December 2013, and with little knowledge on how to use the camera, he set off to capture an Aurora Australis. That was a screaming failure, and from that point onward he has been dedicated to researching and practising his skills under the night skies. Matthew is a Mechanic Fitter by trade, after serving 8 years in the Royal Australian Navy. While away on deployments and travelling Australia, New Zealand, Norfolk Island, Solomon Islands and at home, he tried his hand at many platforms with a point and shoot. He had always dreamed of one day buying a DSLR and trying his hand at photography.
